Typose, Errors & Speeling Mistaks

At Think & Grow Rich eBook, you know that I pride myself on having a really nice version of Napoleon Hill’s book (see this page for information about this free pdf download version of “Think & Grow Rich”).

As I read it, I sometimes find typing errors and so like to update and change the eBook. If you’ve spotted a spelling mistake (either on the book or even on this website), then please let me know and use the Comment field below and I’ll look to changing it.

This is just part of my commitment to constant, positive change – even the tiniest thing can be made better. If you’ve not noticed, that’s what this site is about…

Cheers,

Zain

Hi – Thank you so much for this site. I’m enjoying it very much. I have been reading the book (10 pages a day) and just a couple of days ago began watching the videos. What a wonderful resource! I just watched #4 Applied Faith. In the notes there is the statement “3. Keep your mind from hunches from within.” Shouldn’t it read “Keep your mind open to hunches from within.” Thanks.

      Hi Barbe,

Thank YOU! I knew there was a reason I put this section up here – and you’re 100% completely right… sometimes my typing doesn’t keep up with the thoughts in my head.. heh!

I’m glad you’re enjoying the videos… and, more importantly, that’s you’re paying attention! Well spotted and I’m going to fix that right now…

      Cheers,

      Zain

THE LAST GREAT PROPHET Reviewed by Thomas Sugrue (page 167 and 168 of your THINK AND GROW RICH)
Was this part of the original book or added later? Sugrue was born in 1962 so it appears to be conveniently injected into the middle of the book. – What about it?

    • Zain says:

      Hi John,

From the sources that I have, all editions that I can find seem to have this section on “The Last Great Prophet”. I see your concern about whether this was just slipped in… although from doing a little more investigation, I managed to find this link from “The Islamic Review” from February 1942 (http://www.wokingmuslim.org/work/islamic-review/1942/feb42.pdf) (See pages marked 49-51, with an extract of “Think & Grow Rich”).

There’s also another blog post that suggest that this orignal article was written in the 30s that you can find here: http://arnoldyasinmol.blogspot.com/2007/05/last-great-prophet-reviewed-by-thomas.html. I’m not sure where the guy gets his reference from but he does mention that “The above review was written in the 1930′s, it is a summary on a biography written by Essad Bey.”. Perhaps you might want to contact the author of the blog and ask?

It would seem that the “Thomas Sugrue” you’ve managed to find just happens to have the same name and has written more contemporary books, so it’s not surprising he turns up in the search engines first. The unfortunate thing about search engines is that they have a way of “deleting history” – the prominence of search results will only ever bring back what their algorithms deem fashionable and what they think users are looking for. As a consequence, other older, rare and less quoted texts will disappear as they will never be found…

In terms of a metaphor that can be applied from Think & Grow Rich, you could perhaps see this as a case of needing to “dig a little deeper to find gold”. If you do find the original “Thomas Sugrue” source from the Herald Tribune, then please do share with us what you find. I’d be interested to find the original source date and also add that to this version if at all possible.

This is the best I information have at the moment, so any research that anyone else can contribute is always, very, very much appreciated!

      Does that answer your question?

      Cheers,

      Zain

The Benefactor Member card image on your home page reads:
    Thin kand grow rich

    • Zain says:

Hi sli49490… Oooh, what a very keen eye you have! Well done for spotting this on the Benefactor Member Card… I would give you 10 points, although it is actually a very deliberate and purposeful typographical “error”.

The main reason is really that, when I designed the card, having “Think” as 5 letters and “And” as 3, it simply didn’t quite fit the idea of cards that we’re familiar with. If you notice, a lot of cards have chunks of 4 characters. Visually, the 5 and 3 character chunks just didn’t seem to work. So, that’s really the reason for the lettering!

Well done on your keen observation skills! That’s really paying attention to the details – a quality that will serve you well in future, I’m sure!

      Cheers,

      Zain
